More YBoard Reviews

The last couple of weeks has seen a strange, but very welcome spike in sales of our iPad apps YBoard and Fatigue Survey. We’re up 600% on weekly sales over the past weeks with most downloads coming from the UK and Australia. We’ve no idea how or why this has occurred but its obviously very pleasing. The additional sales have led to a couple of new reviews and even a support call – we received our very first support request for YBoard from a user in Australia, who with some advice persevered and gave us a great review.

Here are the two latest reviews:

Great little app *****

by G Mouse – Version 2.0.2 – Apr 3, 2013

This is a fantastic little app – great for creating org charts, breakdown structures – anything that needs a lot of fluidity when creating.

Nice simple app *****

by ch53 – Version 2.0.2 – Apr 6, 2013

This nicely emulates the brainstorming process with Post-it notes. It took me a while to get the swipes working. A slow peel up movement to remove a note (from just below the note and stopping on it) – and the swipe to go to the home page needs to be be on a clear area without any Post-it on it (if you go over a Post-it it does not work) Developer responded really quickly to my enquiry and sorted these points out for me. Now I am using it very effectively and like it.

The increased sales of Fatigue Survey would indicate that the app is being used by a couple of operators in the UK and Australia. If you are a user of Fatigue Survey please get in touch and let us know what features you would like to see next and how we can make the app more useful for your operation.

[SLIDES] The Crazy World of Aviation IT

Earlier today I presented at the Panasonic Mobility Forum which saw the launch of their new Windows 8 devices. More on those another time, but for now here are my slides.

I was asked to present on the current state of tablet technologies in aerospace and the impact the iPad has had on the consumerization of aviation IT. The presentation went down very well but there were one or two grumpy looking old school Panasonic executives.

[VIDEO] You’re Doing it all Wrong

Here’s a mashup that I made of the slides and audio from my MRO Tablet Strategy Masterclass presentation that I gave at AVM Summit on Friday 9th of November 2012.

You’re Doing it all Wrong from Paul Saunders on Vimeo.

The moment of surprise that you hear at the beginning was me realising that the technical challenge that I had to display my iPad wirelessly on the conference projector was much easier than expected. Apologies for the audio quality in a couple of places, but it was recorded on my iPhone and stitched together with the slides unedited.
