conduce logoeTechLog8 streamlines operations for life saving service

In June 2022, the Royal Flying Doctors (RFDS) (Queensland Section) in Australia selected the Conduce eTechLog8 application as their Electronic Logbook (ELB) to replace all paper journey, defect, and technical logs across its fleet of 24 Beechcraft King Air aircraft.

Utilising the proven project methodology as recommended by Conduce, in December 2022 RFDS (Queensland Section) was awarded full approval for paperless eTechLog8 operations from the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

eTechLog8 was chosen following an extensive evaluation process including flight trials and is now considered by the RFDS as one of the core elements of its paperless operations initiative, driving forward quality, safety, and environmental goals.

eTechLog8 is now fully live and operational across the RFDS (Queensland Section) fleet, with over 10,000 flights completed. eTechLog8 is fully integrated into the RFDS CAMO solution – Rusada Envision – to enable real time aircraft status data to be available 24/7

RFDS Manager Engineering Operations, Adam Clegg said the investment in the technology is also about saving lives in a sector where every second counts.

“Unlike other aviation services, the RFDS doesn’t operate on a strict schedule, we can get a call to help a patient in remote Queensland at any time,” Mr Clegg said.

“That’s why it’s so important that we always know the status of our aircraft so we can ensure fleet availability.

“eTechLog8 gives our operations team real-time data on our fleet, enabling us to make decisions faster to keep our life saving air ambulances flying.”

Managing Director for Conduce Australia, Richard Vorias said Conduce is excited to be working with the RFDS in Queensland as the first in Australia to join more than 30 Air Operator Certified (AOC) Operators to have selected eTechLog8 worldwide.

“We welcome the RFDS (Queensland Section) to the eTechLog8 family and look forward to a long and successful relationship in the years to come and on the road to greater efficiency through digitalisation,” Mr Vorias said.

“A big difference in the Conduce offering is our true 24/7/365 Customer support.

“We don’t just supply the system and then walk away; we train staff to use it and have aviation and eTechLog8 product experts ready to take calls from customers when they need help.”

RFDS Technical Services Engineer, Vaughan Baird said the RFDS (Queensland Section) is continually striving to improve operational efficiencies along with the quality of the service it delivers.

“The whole team is now utilising eTechLog8 to its full potential, having eliminated the paper based ELB processes that were previously in use,” Mr Baird said.
